Havens Discussion Questions
1. Hakuna Matata – what a wonderful phrase. What is one thing you need to be less worried about these days?
2. Read James 5:16. Church people often quote the second half of this verse while skipping the first part. How might the powerful prayer of a righteous person actually be connected to confession? Or in the words of Lion King, how does everything light touches become our kingdom?
3. Read Romans 1:16. What is “the gospel”? What do you think Paul means when he says, “I am not ashamed of the gospel”?
4. Share a story of when you were either embarrassed by someone in your family, or proud to be associated with them.
5. Read Hebrews 11:16. Here’s where God returns the favor – he’s not ashamed to be associated with us. Take a minute to reflect on Lion King as a true story – God really does look at us and say, “Remember who you are. You are my son/daughter, a child of the King.” What parts of your life would change if you were able to truly “remember who you are”?
