Havens Discussion Questions
1. How would you rate yourself as a friend on a scale of 1-10? Think about your own friendships based on the definition: “Always let you in, Never let you down.” Which one is more challenging for you and why?
2. Read John 15:1-17. Tim Keller’s take on this passage is, “Jesus’ grand plan for saving the world is: FRIENDSHIP.” What would you say are the strengths and weaknesses of this strategy? Share an example of a time you’ve seen friendship have life-changing effects.
3. Read Luke 10:25-37. Who is the neighbor in this passage? It’s clearly not the religious person – so why do church people so often think of themselves as the “Good Samaritan”? How should church people see themselves based on this passage?
4. Who is the most annoying person in your life? How might God be using that person to save you?
